Javier Aguirre

Javier Aguirre graduated in Geological Sciences from the University of the Basque Country and has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Professional Association of Industrial Engineers of Álava, Gipuzkoa and Navarra. He has specialised in many areas of environmental engineering, wastewater management, air and noise, and waste management.

From 1998 to 2008, he held the post of Coast and Shoreline Hydrology Planning Officer and Waste Management Officer at the Basque Government’s Department for the Environment and Spatial Planning. In 2008, he was appointed the Authorisations and Concessions Manager at the Office of the Western Cantabrian River Basins of the Basque Water Agency (URA).

He has worked at different universities and areas of the Public Administration in the fields of environmental management, law and engineering.
