David Stewart

Policy Officer. Scottish Land Commission

David’s main areas of work are on land, housing and place. His remit at the Scottish Land Commission includes work on land assembly, placemaking, housing land markets and the productive and sustainable re-use of vacant and derelict land.

He has previously worked developing affordable homes for housing associations in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and on the mixed use regeneration of a large estate in Edinburgh.

He is a board member of Rural Housing Scotland and was previously on the board of PAS, the planning and place charity. He is the treasurer of his local community development trust in the Scottish Highlands, which aims to support sustainable development which benefits the local community.
