Undergraduate Diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and a Degree in Food Science and Technology. Amets worked for years on nutritional assessments and researching into malnutrition among older people.

She is currently Mayor of Bakio, and has recently embarked on her third term of office, having already held the post for 8 years.
